I am Mel, a 40-something-year-old who has been employed since the age of 22.
As many in the workforce discovered, there is a lot wrong with the work sector. Good employers are hard to come by and more often than not employees are exploited so that business owners can get rich.
Over the course of my working years, I have worked in retail and in healthcare. Both were abysmal in working conditions and work/life balance. The general treatment of workers in both was so terrible that It amounted to abuse
I have started this blog in hopes of radicalizing others to stand up to the rampant mistreatment of workers that is allowed. Many in society either turn a blind eye or are so used to this treatment that they do nothing which further perpetuates the abuse.
As I am from the US, this blog is more geared toward US labor practices but others might be able to learn a thing or two about how we as workers should be treated,
